Day 1 : Arrival in Yangon – Colonial Charm & Sacred Wonders
Welcome to Yangon, Myanmar’s bustling cultural capital! Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Begin your exploration with a city tour, visiting the Sule Pagoda, a stunning octagonal-shaped stupa in the heart of downtown. Stroll through Colonial-era landmarks such as the Strand Hotel and City Hall, before heading to the sprawling Bogyoke Aung San Market for local crafts and gems. In the evening, witness the golden glow of the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar’s most sacred Buddhist site, at sunset – an unforgettable spiritual experience.Overnight stay at Yangon.
Day 2 : Yangon – Bago – Golden Rock Pilgrimage
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Bago, the ancient Mon capital. En route, visit the Taukkyan War Cemetery, honoring Allied soldiers from World War II. In Bago, explore the Shwemawdaw Pagoda, which towers even higher than Shwedagon, and the reclining Shwethalyaung Buddha, one of the largest in the world. Continue onward to Kyaiktiyo to visit the mystical Golden Rock Pagoda (Kyaiktiyo Pagoda) – a gravity-defying boulder covered in gold leaf, perched on the edge of a cliff. Enjoy sunset views and an overnight stay at a hotel near the sacred site.
Day 3 : Golden Rock – Bago – Yangon – Flight to Bagan
After a morning visit to Golden Rock, descend from the mountain and return to Bago. Stop at the Kanbawzathadi Palace, the restored royal palace of King Bayinnaung, and take in the history of the Kyaik Pun Pagoda, famous for its four seated Buddhas. Return to Yangon in the afternoon and proceed to the airport for your flight to Bagan, the spiritual heart of Myanmar. Upon arrival in Bagan, check in and rest for the night in this awe-inspiring ancient city.
Day 4 : Bagan – Temples & Timeless Landscapes
Start your day with a magical sunrise over the Bagan Archaeological Zone, where thousands of ancient temples rise from the misty plains. Explore the most iconic sites such as Ananda Temple, known for its symmetrical design and golden spires, Dhammayangyi Temple, the largest in Bagan, and Thatbyinnyu Temple, the tallest. Visit a local lacquerware workshop to see the city’s traditional handicraft in action. Enjoy sunset from Shwesandaw Pagoda or a scenic riverside point, offering panoramic views of the temple-strewn landscape.
Day 5 : Bagan – Hidden Gems & Rural Encounters
Today, delve deeper into the cultural richness of Bagan. Visit Nyaung U Market, where locals trade fresh produce, herbs, and goods. Continue to Sulamani Temple and the peaceful Gubyaukgyi Temple, famed for its ancient murals. In the afternoon, take a boat ride along the Irrawaddy River, soaking in rural life and the silhouettes of temples from the water. For those seeking a special experience, an optional hot air balloon ride at sunrise is available (seasonal and subject to availability). Overnight stay in Bagan.
Day 6 : Bagan – Flight to Yangon – Journey to Chaung Tha Beach
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Yangon. Upon arrival, begin your overland journey to the Chaung Tha Beach, a scenic coastal escape along the Bay of Bengal. Upon reaching, check in to your beach resort and relax with the sound of waves in the background. The rest of the day is at leisure for you to unwind and enjoy the peaceful beach atmosphere.
Day 7 : Chaung Tha Beach – A Day at Leisure
Today is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Stroll along the golden sands of Chaung Tha, dip into the warm waters, or simply relax under palm trees. You may also explore nearby fishing villages, enjoy fresh seafood, or take a short boat trip to nearby Phyu Island for some light snorkeling. This day is perfect for recharging amidst serene coastal beauty.
Day 8 : Chaung Tha Beach – Return to Yangon & Departure
After breakfast, check out and begin your return journey to Yangon. Upon arrival, depending on your flight time, you may have some last-minute time for shopping or a quick local bite before being transferred to the airport for your onward journey, taking with you beautiful memories of Myanmar’s sacred sites, cultural riches, and coastal calm.
