Classic Tripura – 6 Days

Day 01 : Arrival in Agartala – Local Sightseeing

Upon arrival at Agartala Airport or Railway Station, you will be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in and a brief rest, begin your local sightseeing tour of Agartala, the capital of Tripura. Visit the elegant Ujjayanta Palace, now a museum showcasing the royal history and tribal heritage of Tripura. Continue to the serene Heritage Park, which offers landscaped gardens and miniature representations of the state’s iconic sites. Also, visit the revered Jagannath Temple, known for its traditional Hindu architecture. Overnight stay in Agartala.

Day 02 : Agartala – Neermahal – Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary (Approx. 110 kms round trip / 4 hrs)

After breakfast, embark on an excursion to Neermahal, located about 55 km from Agartala in the middle of Rudrasagar Lake. This magnificent water palace was built by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya and reflects a unique blend of Hindu and Mughal architectural styles. You may also enjoy a scenic boat ride to view the palace from the lake. Later, visit Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary, a lush green reserve featuring a wide range of flora and fauna, including the clouded leopard, spectacled monkey, and various bird species. Explore the zoo, botanical garden, and lakeside picnic spots before returning to Agartala. Overnight stay in Agartala.

Day 03 : Agartala – Unakoti – Agartala (Approx. 320 kms round trip / 8–9 hrs)

After an early breakfast, drive towards Unakoti, one of the most remarkable archaeological and religious heritage sites in Tripura, located near Kailashahar. The journey takes you through picturesque rural landscapes and forested areas. Unakoti is famed for its rock-cut sculptures and relief carvings dating back to the 7th–9th century, including the towering 30-foot image of Lord Shiva, known as "Unakotishwara." This unique site is considered a major Shaivite pilgrimage destination and a testimony to the region’s ancient craftsmanship. After exploring the site, return to Agartala by evening. Overnight stay in Agartala.

Day 04 : Agartala – Jampui Hills (Approx. 190 kms / 6 hrs)

After breakfast, check out and proceed to Jampui Hills, Tripura’s highest hill range and a haven for nature lovers. The drive offers panoramic views of lush hills, orange orchards, and traditional tribal villages. On arrival, check in to your hill resort. Spend the afternoon at leisure, soaking in the cool mountain air and panoramic views. You may opt to visit nearby viewpoints such as Eden Tourist Lodge Viewpoint or Betlingchhip, the highest peak in Tripura, offering spectacular sunset views. Overnight stay in Jampui Hills.

Day 05 : Jampui Hills – Tripura Sundari Temple – Chabimura – Agartala (Approx. 250 kms / 7 hrs)

After breakfast, begin your return journey towards Agartala with visits to two important spiritual and cultural landmarks. First, stop at the Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, dedicated to Goddess Kali in her Tripura Sundari form. It’s a revered pilgrimage site and a significant part of the state’s spiritual heritage. Continue to Chabimura, often called the “Ajanta of the East,” where you can witness ancient rock carvings of Hindu deities including a massive relief of Goddess Durga, etched on vertical cliffs beside the Gomati River. Enjoy an optional boat ride to best view the carvings. After the visit, drive back to Agartala. Overnight stay in Agartala.

Day 06 : Agartala – Departure

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Agartala Airport or Railway Station for your return journey, carrying back wonderful memories of Tripura’s mystical temples, ancient sculptures, serene hills, and royal history.
