Day 01 : Arrival in Imphal
Welcome to Imphal, the charming capital city of Manipur nestled in the lush green hills of Northeast India. Upon your arrival at Imphal Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Take the day to rest and acclimatize or enjoy a leisurely walk around your hotel’s surroundings to soak in the local culture. No meals are included today as you arrive. Overnight stay in Imphal.
Day 02 : Imphal Sightseeing (Local Travel: Approx. 60 km)
After a hearty breakfast, proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Imphal, which blends history, culture, and natural beauty. Begin with a visit to Kangla Fort, the ancient capital of Manipur and a symbol of Manipuri heritage. Continue to the Shree Govindajee Temple, a historic Vaishnavite temple with elegant architecture. Then explore the Manipur State Museum to gain insights into the rich tribal traditions and history of the region. Later, visit the Ima Keithel (Mother’s Market) – Asia’s largest all-women-run market, a vibrant spot for local handicrafts and textiles. Post lunch, head to the Japanese War Memorial (India Peace Memorial) at Red Hill and the INA Museum at Moirang, dedicated to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the Indian National Army.Overnight stay at Imphal.
Day 03 : Excursion to Moreh – Indo-Myanmar Border (Approx. 110 km / 3.5 to 4 hours one way)
After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Moreh, a bustling border town on the Indo-Myanmar frontier. Enjoy a scenic drive through the lush hills and forests of Manipur. Upon reaching Moreh, visit the Indo-Myanmar Friendship Gate and proceed to Namphalong Market (on the Myanmar side, subject to border permissions), a vibrant local market known for imported goods and Burmese specialties. Savor the experience of cross-border culture and shopping. In the afternoon, return to Imphal by evening.Overnight stay at Imphal.
Day 04 : Ukhrul Excursion (Imphal to Ukhrul: Approx. 85 km / 3 hours one way)
Start your day with breakfast and then drive to Ukhrul, a picturesque hill town known for its serene landscapes and the indigenous Tangkhul Naga tribe. Visit Shirui Hills, famed for the rare and seasonal Shirui Lily (best viewed during blooming season in May-June). Also explore Khangkhui Cave, a natural limestone cave of historical and archaeological significance. Enjoy panoramic views and interact with the warm tribal communities to understand their customs and way of life. In the evening, return to Imphal.Overnight stay at Imphal.
Day 05 : Departure from Imphal
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Imphal Airport for your onward journey with wonderful memories of Manipur's culture, history, and scenic beauty.
