Classic Arunachal Pradesh - 7 Days

Day 01 : Arrival in Guwahati – Transfer to Bomdila (334 kms / approx. 8 hours)

Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative. Begin your scenic journey to Bomdila, a quaint hill town in Arunachal Pradesh known for its panoramic Himalayan views and Buddhist culture. En route, pass through beautiful valleys and forested terrain, and enter Arunachal Pradesh at Bhalukpong, where Inner Line Permit formalities will be completed. Continue your drive through winding mountain roads, reaching Bomdila by evening. Check into your hotel and relax for the night.

Day 02 : Bomdila – Transfer to Tawang (177 kms / approx. 6 hours)

Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel, then proceed to Tawang, one of the most iconic destinations in Northeast India. The drive takes you through picturesque landscapes and important landmarks. En route, stop at Dirang Valley, known for its apple orchards and the calming Dirang River. Continue your ascent to Sela Pass (13,700 ft)—often snow-covered—with a brief stop at the pristine Sela Lake. Visit the Jaswant Garh War Memorial, built in honor of a brave Indian soldier. On arrival in Tawang, check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure.

Day 03 : Tawang Sightseeing

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, set off to explore the cultural and historical richness of Tawang. Begin with the magnificent Tawang Monastery, the largest in India and a revered center for Mahayana Buddhism. Its hilltop location offers sweeping views of the Tawang Valley. Visit the Tawang War Memorial, which pays tribute to the martyrs of the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Continue your tour with a visit to Urgeling Monastery, the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. Later, explore the Craft Centre and Emporium where traditional Monpa arts and crafts are displayed. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay, enriched by Tawang’s spiritual and cultural charm.

Day 04 : Excursion to Bumla Pass and Sangetsar Lake(34 kms / approx. 1.5 hours one way)

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, embark on a thrilling day trip to Bumla Pass (subject to permits and weather conditions), located near the Indo-China border at a breathtaking altitude of 15,200 ft. Experience the stark, snow-covered landscape and patriotic atmosphere. On your return journey, visit the picturesque Sangetsar Lake (also called Madhuri Lake), formed by an earthquake and surrounded by dead trees and majestic peaks—famous for its appearance in the Bollywood film Koyla. Return to Tawang by evening and relax at your hotel.

Day 05 : Tawang – Return to Bomdila (177 kms / approx. 6 hours)

After a warm breakfast at the hotel, bid farewell to Tawang and begin your journey back to Bomdila. Retrace your route through the majestic Sela Pass, pausing for scenic photos or short breaks. Enjoy the drive through misty valleys and forests as you descend to Bomdila. Check into your hotel upon arrival and unwind after the day’s journey.

Day 06 : Bomdila – Transfer to Bhalukpong (92 kms / approx. 3 hours)

Enjoy your final breakfast at the hotel in Bomdila, then proceed to Bhalukpong, a serene riverside town located at the edge of Arunachal Pradesh. The drive offers a gentler descent through forested hills and tribal villages. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the afternoon by the Kameng River, or take a short nature walk in the nearby Tipi Orchidarium, home to over 500 varieties of orchids. Bhalukpong offers a peaceful stop before returning to the plains.

Day 07 : Bhalukpong – Return to Guwahati (242 kms / approx. 5 hours)

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your journey back to Guwahati, descending into the plains of Assam. Enjoy the scenic countryside and river valleys along the way. On arrival in Guwahati, you will be dropped off at the airport or railway station for your onward journey, carrying back unforgettable memories of the serene landscapes, spiritual sites, and unique cultural experiences of Arunachal Pradesh.
