Classic Arunachal Pradesh - 6 Days

Day 01 : Arrival in Guwahati – Transfer to Bomdila (334 kms / approx. 8 hours)

Upon your arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, you will be greeted by our tour representative. From here, begin your scenic journey to Bomdila, nestled in the Eastern Himalayan ranges of Arunachal Pradesh. As you ascend through winding roads and lush green hills, witness the changing landscapes and pleasant climate. En route, you may halt at picturesque locations like Bhalukpong, the entry point to Arunachal Pradesh, to complete Inner Line Permit formalities. By evening, arrive in Bomdila, a charming town known for its panoramic views of snow-clad Himalayan ranges and rich Monpa culture. Check-in to your hotel and relax for the night.

Day 02 : Bomdila – Transfer to Tawang (177 kms / approx. 6 hours)

After enjoying a delicious morning breakfast at the hotel, begin your journey to Tawang, one of the most enchanting towns in Arunachal Pradesh. The road to Tawang offers spellbinding natural vistas and notable stops. Visit the beautiful Dirang Valley, known for its apple orchards and hot water springs. As you cross the Sela Pass (13,700 ft)—often snow-covered and scenic—pause to admire the tranquil Sela Lake. Also, pay respects at the Jaswant Garh War Memorial, a tribute to the brave Indian soldier Jaswant Singh. Arrive in Tawang by evening, and check into your hotel for a restful night.

Day 03 : Tawang Local Sightseeing

Enjoy your morning breakfast at the hotel before heading out to explore the wonders of Tawang. Begin with a visit to the magnificent Tawang Monastery, the second-largest in the world and a spiritual hub for Mahayana Buddhists. The monastery’s architecture, serene atmosphere, and scenic location offer a deeply enriching experience. Then proceed to the Tawang War Memorial, dedicated to the martyrs of the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Later, explore the vibrant Craft Centre and Emporium, where you can witness traditional Monpa crafts and thangka paintings. Also visit Urgeling Monastery, the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. Return to your hotel for the night, filled with insights into the region’s history and culture.

Day 04 : Excursion to Bumla Pass and Sangetsar Lake(34 kms / approx. 1.5 hours one way)

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, embark on a thrilling excursion to Bumla Pass (subject to weather and permit clearance), located at an altitude of 15,200 ft near the Indo-China border. The high-altitude terrain, fluttering prayer flags, and snow-covered expanses offer an unforgettable experience. On your way back, visit the stunning Sangetsar Lake, famously known as Madhuri Lake after actress Madhuri Dixit shot a film scene here. The lake, surrounded by dead trees and backed by rugged mountains, presents an ethereal setting. Return to Tawang in the evening for an overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 05 : Tawang – Return to Bomdila (177 kms / approx. 6 hours)

Begin your day with a warm breakfast at the hotel, then proceed for your return journey to Bomdila. En route, once again pass through Sela Pass and the charming towns of Dirang and Jung. You may stop at scenic spots missed earlier or revisit favorites like Sela Lake. By evening, reach Bomdila and check in to your hotel. Enjoy a peaceful evening and relax amidst the serene mountain surroundings.

Day 06 : Bomdila – Return to Guwahati (335 kms / approx. 8 hours)

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your final leg of the journey as you descend from the hills to reach Guwahati. Enjoy the scenic drive through forests and valleys, capturing the last glimpses of the Eastern Himalayas. On arrival in Guwahati, you may be dropped off at the airport or railway station for your onward journey, marking the end of a memorable tour of Arunachal Pradesh’s hidden gems.
